South West College’s £30 million Erne Campus has been confirmed as the World’s first educational and largest Passive House Premium building.
The 8,200 square-metre new build project is also the first building in the UK to achieve both Passive House Premium and BREEAM outstanding accreditations.
Congratulating the College on the achievements, Minister Diane Dodds, Economy Minister said the achievements of these awards will deliver significant benefits for curriculum provision, and greatly reduce building management costs while demonstrating her departments commitment to delivering a modern, economically-focused curriculum in new, world class, state-of-the-art facilities.
South West College Chief Executive, Michael McAlister discusses the impact that the Erne Campus will have when doors open to the world-class building in September.
“It’s a very striking building…students will benefit absolutely, staff will benefit from it as well, but employers, industry and community groups right across the region will have access to this building and benefit from it.”
