Slieve Donard Hotel Refurbishment, Newcastle
Major refurbishment of one of Northern Ireland’s most famous hotels to create a blend of old-world charm and new-era luxury accommodation, while preserving the Grade B2 listed building’s historic features.
The 180 guest rooms, public spaces and food and beverage areas (including four restaurants) have been refurbished to celebrate the distinct beauty, rich history, and golf legacy of the iconic home.
Slieve Donard is a Grande Dame hotel, originally designed by architect JJ Farrall and built by the Belfast and County Down Railway in 1898. AJ Capital Partners acquired the hotel from the Hastings family and relaunched it under its Marine & Lawn Hotels & Resorts brand in 2023.
