“This project represents a major capital investment at the heart of north Belfast and will connect to existing cycle and active travel infrastructure. Additionally, it will play a key role in promoting the use of sustainable transportation options, which will benefit our environment, society, and economy.”
York Street Station will also feature a major new piece of public art, centred on the theme ‘Journeylines’, giving “expression to the possibilities and options opened up by public transport”.
The project has recently won the prestigious ‘Arts and Business NI Creative Community Engagement Award’ for Translink and the Golden Thread Gallery’s outstanding collaboration in engaging with over 1,000 people in the local communities of North Belfast.
